All Access Magazine

The All Access Magazine was the flagship product at Anita Goodesign for close to 9 years. Subscribed customers received a printed magazine every month including 8-10 design collection tutorials, and exclusive editorial content such as tips & tricks, DIYs, etc.

The Refresh

I directed a design team that kept all content templates updated to keep our brand fresh and on-target. Read more about that process here.

After the first few years, nonetheless, the All Access magazine started to look dated. And so, for the 15th Anniversary of Anita Goodesign, I personally developed a refreshed look for the cover and how we displayed product inside and out.

A plan in 3 parts.

  • Revamping the cover and how to approach the All Access logo, by allowing elements to interact more organically with the layout and thinking outside of the “image box.”

  • Creative ways to display projects on the All Access cover. Exploring vertical surfaces, humanization of images, and not being afraid to “clutter it up.”

  • Fresh ways to display quilt samples and projects in photography, maximizing real estate, usage of props and a variety of angles.

After adapting the plan to conform to realistic time constraints and processes already in place, I came up with 4 variations for the cover template layout. It included a flexible and adaptable color scheme and a variety of display type options. I created examples on how to apply the template to guide how the final look would reflect the overall company brand.
