Interactive Noah’s Ark
This whimsical Noah’s Ark rendition was created as a tile-scene-style quilt, where a series of quilt blocks are put together to create a whole.
Every element was placed thoughtfully to avoid small details falling between seams and to avoid splitting up sections in less than ideal ways. All elements were drawn following specific rules for adding fabric appliqué successfully to maximize the use of textured and fun fabrics.
Special Features
The artwork includes several details made to lend interactivity to the final product. For example, three panels on the side of the ark were drawn and planned as free standing pockets to hold stuffed animals. Also, portholes were made into covered button details, and window shutters were stitched as free standing elements to add a three dimensional touch. And of course, some of the animals and even Noah are separate “stuffed” characters. It’s the perfect kid-friendly playmat, full of texture and interactivity.
